Longmont Lights Parade
See all of the twinkling floats and Santa as they make their way down Coffman Street and Main Street this Saturday night. The parade begins at 5 p.m. starting at Longs Peak Ave. and Coffman Street. Don't miss Santa as he waves to all a good night!
Make a day of it and be sure to check out all the downtown attractions before the parade including Summit Taco’s Mercado Artisan Market from 12 to 4 p.m. and the Free Pavilion Concert from 2 to 4 p.m. Starting at 4 p.m., grab a hot cocoa at St. Stephen's Plaza courtesy of The Well. After the parade, choose a downtown restaurant from this list, enjoy dinner with the family, then take a stroll and admire downtown’s holiday lights, window murals, and do some local shopping!

Out Boulder County's Queer and Trans Youth Group
On Dec. 9, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Out Boulder County will hold a youth group for queer and trans individuals between ages 12- and 18-years-old in-person at the St. Vrain Community Hub.
Short Films from the 2021 Boulder International Film Festival
Join us for the last of three evenings dedicated to short films from this year’s Boulder International Film Festival on Thursday, Dec. 9 from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. in Steward Auditorium at the Longmont Museum. Flagstaff Academy Festival of Lights
Flagstaff Community members will be creating "truck" light displays for their first-ever Festival of Lights event on Dec. 9, starting at 6 p.m. at the Flagstaff Academy campus. There will be more than 20 light displays, including a fire truck and police car, lined up in the parking lot during the event. Attendees will walk through the displays at their leisure, and many of our lights display participants will be doling out goodies to the kids.This is a free event open to the public. Sponsors will be charged a registration fee for an entry. The Flagstaff Academy Student Council will sell hot chocolate at this event.

Friday Afternoon Concert: Denver Brass5 "Christmas Time is Near"
Join the Denver Brass5 for a heartwarming holiday treat on Friday. Dec. 10 in Stewart Auditorium at the Longmont Museum starting at 2:30 p.m. Revel in the glorious sounds of the season and capture the feeling of Christmas magic! Goosebumps are guaranteed by Colorado’s most elegant and entertaining recital quintet as they bring inspiration and love to the season with their trademark Christmas arrangements and traditional carols. A Tuna Christmas at Longmont Theatre Company
A hilarious comedy about Christmas in the third-smallest town in Texas will come to Longmont Theatre Company this Christmas season. Two actors play all the crazy citizens of Tuna, Texas, as they prepare for the town's annual Christmas festivities including the hot competition in the annual lawn-display contest. A Tuna Christmas is a total delight for all seasons. Enjoy this laugh-filled evening!
Performances start at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. At this time, masks and proof of vaccination are required for everyone entering the theatre. Please plan to arrive early.
Visits with Santa
Are you on the good list? Talk it over with Santa himself! He is seeing visitors in the Roosevelt Park Rose Garden during the Longmont Lights Festival starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10.
Longmont Lights - Friday Festival
Join us for a stroll around Roosevelt Park, lit up with thousands of holiday festival lights, during a walk in the park on Friday, Dec. 10, starting at 5 p.m. at 700 Longs Peak Ave. All events are outdoors, so dress for the weather. Enjoy hot cocoa carts, hot air balloon lights, ice sculptures, costumed characters, fire pits, Santa's workshop and visits with Santa, holiday concerts and a kids' train ride around the park. The night ends with a bang! Don't miss the fireworks show above the St. Vrain Memorial Building at 7:45pm!

Santa's Head Elf needs some help in the North Pole Workshop! Visit the Santa's Workshop area in Roosevelt Park starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10 to build your toy and enjoy several craft booths provided by our generous elf partners. Beginning Calligraphy December Class
Basic Calligraphy is taught with a hand dipping pen and ink. During this class on Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Firehouse Art Center, you will learn about the equipment, holding and inking the pen, guidelines and paper, fixed pen angle, letter formation, and explore a basic 'Simple Roman' alphabet. Materials will be provided.
TransGiving
It's been a difficult year for many members of our community, but there is still much to be thankful for including our strong Boulder County Trans community.
Let's join together with our extended trans family for our Annual TransGiving meal on Sunday, Dec. 12 between 3 and 7 p.m. A scrumptious dinner will be catered at 4 p.m. Location will be announced soon, but parking will be available. As we will be eating indoors, all attendees are required to be vaccinated. This event is for trans-identified individuals only (includes nonbinary, binary, and gender expansive identities). Monday Night Life Drawing Class
The Firehouse Art Center is proud to offer a socially distanced life drawing session coordinated with Art of Modeling for people 18 years and older on Monday nights from 6 to 8. The classes are short, sit-dry media only and while the Firehouse provides chairs and tables, it’s BYOB easels and supplies. In this two-hour session, poses vary from short gestures to 15 or 20 minute studies in an open-studio format. This is not an instructor-led class; artists are invited to practice their craft in their own style. All artists are responsible for cleaning their area after class. For distancing reasons, each person will need a separate table or must bring their own easel. No materials will be provided or shared. Space is limited so reserve a slot on eventbrite for $15 general admission and $12.00 discount pricing for Firehouse Artist members. Doors close 5 minutes after class starts and open 15 minutes before.

Open Chess Night
Every Tuesday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. is Open Chess Night at the Longmont Public Library! We will have some tables set aside on the 2nd floor for playing with chess sets available. However, you may bring your own set. This event is open to all ages, but those 16 and younger must have an adult with them at all times. Evenings will be informal and there will be no instruction on how to play (we do have books on the subject)!

Christmas Market at St. John the Baptist

Elexa Dawson - Live Music
Elexa Dawson's original songs and familiar favorites will ignite your senses with musical artistry and engaging storytelling on Saturday, Dec. 18 in her performance at 300 Suns Brewing from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Award-winning songwriter and skilled entertainer, Elexa Dawson leads with her red-dirt-honey voice and memorable melodies. "Music is Medicine" (Lost Cowgirl Records) titles her 2019 studio album and names her life's purpose. She released two singles in 2021: "New Song" and "Mother". Elexa is a Potawatomi community activist, Indigenous gardener and student of sustainable agriculture, workshop facilitator and mother of two future matriarchs.
Holiday Masquerade Ball
A masquerade ball in the spirit of Yule will take place on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Cactus Coven. Floating candles, waltz, tarot readings, live DJ and more on this magical night welcoming winter solstice!
The event will begin with a 30 minute waltz demonstration at 7 p.m. where you will learn a few quick moves to use for the ball! Then, we will begin the festivities! We will have a make-your-own-mask area for anyone who doesn’t have one, and we will have holiday tarot readings in our tarot room (readings are included in the price). Light refreshments and drinks will be served! Please note this is a mask-on event, so you are required to wear a face covering under the mask of your choosing. Bring a coat as refreshments will be enjoyed outside.
