Early on Wednesday morning, the temperature dipped to minus 7 degrees Fahrenheit, the coldest temperature ever recorded in Denver for February 19 according to National Weather Service (NWS) data. The previous record low for February 19 was minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit, which was recorded in 2006.
The wind chill overnight made temperatures feel close to minus 20 degrees, according to NWS meteorologists.
Temperatures are expected to remain below zero until Friday morning, according to meteorologists. But by Sunday morning, temperatures in the city are expected to shoot up to 60 degrees.
