Two weak storm systems are expected to affect the Front Range tonight into Saturday morning, according to predictions made by BoulderCAST, AccuWeather, and the National Weather Service (NWS). The storms are predicted to bring a small amount of snow and some rain to the Longmont area.

BoulderCAST predicted that from Thursday morning to late Thursday evening, there will be light precipitation in the Front Range, with totals of 0.1-inch to 0.2-inch accumulations of precipitation, and maybe less north of Boulder. The precipitation is expected to be a mixture of rain, rain and snow mix, and wet snow.

During the evening on Thursday, Longmont is expected to experience rain and snow, which should become mostly or entirely snow after midnight, according to the NWS. Low temperature is expected to be around 28º. The NWS also reported that snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.

On Friday, there will be a chance of snow before noon and then likely rain mixed with snow in Boulder County in the afternoon. On Friday evening, snow is predicted to fall mainly before midnight, with a low temperature predicted around 24º. Winds could gust as high as 30 miles per hour, according to the NWS. Less than one inch of snowfall is predicted on Friday night.

The NWS also predicted that there is a 20-percent chance of snow before noon on Saturday morning before skies clear and the wind calms down. Sunday’s high temperature in Longmont is expected to be around 59º.
