Eight high schools in the St. Vrain Valley School District have been named as a 2022 U.S. News Best High School.

The U.S. News ranks uses data on more than 24,000 public high schools, ranking nearly 18,000 schools on six factors. Those factors included college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rate.

Erie High School, Longmont High School, Lyons Middle Senior High School, Mead High School, Niwot High School, Silver Creek High School, Skyline High School and Twin Peaks Charter Academy achieved status as a 2022 U.S. News Best High School.

Niwot was the top ranked out of the eight St. Vrain high schools on the list, rated 36th out of the 508 ranked high schools in Colorado.

“This ranking is something that we are proud of here at Niwot High School, because it is a recognition of the excellent work being done by our teachers and staff,” Niwot High Principal Eric Rauschkolb said. “Our teachers are passionate about helping their students succeed and become lifelong learners, and our students trust their teachers to lead them beyond where they thought that they could go.”

Skyline was ranked 137th in the state by U.S. News.

“This ranking is indicative of Skyline High School's goal to hold high expectations for all students and provide multiple opportunities for them to reach their potential,”  Skyline High School Principal Heidi Ringer said. “We are proud of what our students have accomplished and the dedication and commitment of our teachers.”
