Longmont City Council Open Forum
The Longmont City Council will host the semi-annual Open Forum starting at 7 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 18. Residents are invited to speak for 5 minutes each with Council members and the Mayor on any topic of their choice. Information about how to participate can be found on the agenda for the Open Forum that will be published to the City’s website Friday, Jan. 14, or call the City Clerk’s Office for more information at 303-651-8649.

New Year, New Fitness Goals!
Take your fitness routine to the next level in 2022 and work with a personal trainer through Recreation Services. If you are new to personal training or haven’t trained in more than a year, try our “Intro to Training” package — get three private sessions for $105 or three semi-private for $162 (share the cost with your partner). Toilet Rebate Information
Applying for a toilet rebate? Make sure you qualify!

  • Was your home built before 1994? Business and multi-family customers can also participate; visit the website below for more details.
  • Is your new toilet’s gallon per flush (GPF) 1.1 GPF or less? Dual-flush toilet tip: Look for 0.8/1.28 toilets when shopping. 1.1/1.6 toilets DO NOT qualify.
  • Is your new toilet WaterSense certified and does it have a Maximum Performance (MaP) score of 600g or greater? Not all WaterSense toilets qualify.

Get Help Enrolling in Health Insurance
Are you unsure or confused about available health insurance? Boulder County is here to help you get enrolled in health insurance during the Open Enrollment period running from now through Saturday, Jan. 15. Boulder County Health Coverage Guides offer free, unbiased and confidential phone support. You can ask them about eligibility, plan options, and/or financial assistance. Teen Library Committee Applications Due
Do you know someone who is in 6th through 12th grades? Have them apply for the Teen Library Committee before Monday, Jan. 17, and join other teens for a monthly meeting to help decide what teen programs the Library should offer, suggest books and movies to add to the Library, and work on creating a teen space. Teens meet from 6 to 7 p.m. every fourth Monday of the month (Jan. 24, Feb. 28, March 28, and April 25, 2022). Find more information at bit.ly/LibTeens or call 303-651-8477.

Longmont Recreation Job Fair
Join us in the lobby of the Longmont Recreation Center, 310 Quail Road, from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, and have a job interview on the spot — even for summer positions! We’re looking for lifeguards, grounds maintenance technicians, building supervisors, front desk staff, fitness instructors, pool managers, day camp leaders, ice skate guards, and more! Recycle Your Holidays
The City offers several opportunities from now through Sunday, Jan. 9, for residents to recycle holiday materials. Christmas trees can be dropped off at designated areas within Roosevelt, Garden Acres, Kanemoto and Centennial parks, and at the Waste Diversion Center. Please remove all decorations and lights. Special bins will be set up at the Waste Diversion Center, 140 Martin St., for wrapping paper, holiday lights and white block foam recycling.
