Thousands of citizens took to the streets of downtown Longmont on April 5 for a “Hands Off” protest, one of nearly 1,500 demonstrations across the country opposing actions taken by Donald Trump during his presidency. Organized by progressive groups nationwide, the protests drew an estimated three million participants.
Among the actions protested were newly-imposed global tariffs, cuts to government agencies and the federal workforce, immigration raids, and rollbacks on LGBTQ+ and women’s rights.
Photographer Kenneth Wajda attended the Longmont protest and captured powerful images of the citizens who participated, along with the signs they held.
