At least two people were hospitalized Friday afternoon after a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 near Mead, said Rick Tillery, public information officer with Mountain View Fire Rescue.
The crash occurred just before 1 p.m. on I-25 northbound just after Exit 243, he said.
Two semi trucks, a sedan, a pickup truck and a work van were involved in the crash, he said.
Tillery said he witnessed at least two people being taken away from the crash in ambulances, but as of 4 p.m. Friday, the number of people involved in the crash and the nature of their injuries was not known.
The northbound lanes of I-25 were closed near exit 243 while an investigation was underway, and the interstate reopened around 3:30 p.m.
