St. Vrain Valley School District Board Allows Purchase of School Buses for $1.4 Million

On Oct. 25, St. Vrain Valley School District Board approved 6-0 to allow transportation services to purchase 13 new school buses for $1,386,522 out of the 2018 Capital Reserve.

The buses consist of Type C, Type A and Type D buses, ten of which are equipped with air conditioners for temperature sensitive students.

Type C buses are traditional buses for commuting. Three buses are 42-passenger buses with air conditioners that cost $115,777 each and other three are 77-passenger buses without air conditioner which cost $95,345 each.

Three Type A buses are small buses for special-needs students, which amounts to $114,231 each.

There are four Type D buses equipped with air conditioning that will be used for field trips and athletic activities. The transportation services have established a distribution model so that every student has equal access to these activity buses.
