BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. - Boulder County is partnering with Commuting Solutions on a CO119 Branding & Wayfinding Project. The project will create a distinct identity for the Diagonal Highway corridor along the future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route connecting Boulder and Longmont.
A community survey is open through March 31 on the CO 119 Branding & Wayfinding Project webpage. The survey is available in English and Spanish.
Two opportunities to take the survey in-person and talk with project planners are scheduled in March:
- Wednesday, March 13 from 8-11 a.m. at the RTD Downtown Boulder Station, 1800 14th St. Boulder.
- Friday, March 15 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Marcos Hot Dogs & Tacos, 1647 Kimbark St., Longmont.
This unique brand will be used on signs guiding travelers in the first and final miles, BRT station structures, the nine-mile bikeway connecting Boulder, Gunbarrel, Niwot and Longmont and other important elements along the CO 119 corridor. The project will deliver construction-ready wayfinding plans and signs, ready for local governments to fabricate and install.
Branded wayfinding signs make it easier for residents, commuters, and visitors to navigate the region via walking, biking, and taking transit. This project builds on recommendations from the CO 119 First and Final Mile Study to connect people with places through signage that is simple, inclusive, and predictable.
The project welcomes input from diverse community perspectives to shape the CO119 brand. The team will define key brand elements such as fonts, layout, colors, graphics, and messaging, creating a visual identity for integration into wayfinding, stations, and materials.
