The peeps are returning to the Longmont Public Library! For the fifth consecutive year, library patrons will be creating dioramas depicting their favorite literary scenes using marshmallow peeps as the figures.
Dioramas, along with completed entry forms (available on the library website) can be delivered to the library beginning Thursday, April 4 through Thursday, April 11 at 9 pm.
Adults and older teens (those 14 and older) should drop off their dioramas at the 2nd Floor Information Desk, and tweens (ages 9-13) and children (12 and younger) can drop off their dioramas at the Children's and Teen's Information Desk. The dioramas will be displayed in the library lobby from Friday, April 12 through Thursday, April 18. Members of the public are invited and encouraged to stop by and vote for their favorite peep diorama.
On Friday, April 19, winners in seven categories will be announced:
* Best Adult Diorama (ages 14+)
* Best Tween Diorama (ages 9-13)
* Best Kid Diorama (ages 8 and younger)
* Best Transformation of a Peep
* Best Diorama Title
* "Peeple's" Choice (the winner of the public vote)
* Library's Choice (voted on by library staff)
Complete rules and entry forms can be found on the library's website at http://bit.ly/LibPrograms. Contestants can work as individuals or teams. Join the fun at the library this springtime - make a diorama or just stop by to enjoy them and vote for your favorite!
