Tech is amazing! You have the whole world in your hand—the power to be used as a force for good or, um, not so good. In this interactive presentation, author Jessica Speer will share techy tidbits, stories, healthy screen habits, and ways to stay safe online. Tap into your superpowers to use tech as a force for good. This program is presented by The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop, and copies of the book will be available for sale.

Please note this event will be held at the Longmont Public Library's Meeting Rooms with books available to purchase on-site through The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop. Registration is required.

Voices of Change: Farm Labor Past, Present & Future

Join us for a panel conversation exploring the role farm labor played in making Longmont and Boulder County what they are today, shedding light on the experience of farm workers past and present, and celebrating the efforts of those who toiled to improve their working conditions. Offered in complement to our special exhibition "agriCULTURE: Art Inspired by the Land." Featuring Andrea Yoloteotl Nawage, Harvest of First Nations; Tim Broderick, Office of Sustainability, Climate Action and Resilience, Boulder County; and more. Moderated by Marina LaGrave, Climate Equity Specialist, Boulder County.

Join us for a special monthly Yoga Storytime. Storytime will be the 1st Thursday of the month from 10-10:30am. We’ll read stories and practice some yoga movement and breathing.

Join us every 2nd Monday of the month from September through December for our Mythical Creatures Club! We’ll learn about Bigfoot, mermaids, and many other legendary creatures through fun crafts and activities.

Solar Explorers: Getting Ready for the Eclipse

Join Children and Teen Services in celebrating the upcoming solar eclipse! Participants will learn how to safely view the annular solar eclipse, why these eclipses happen, and all participants can decorate their own eclipse glasses.

Woody Guthrie "Bound for Glory" (1976, PG)

Based upon his 1943 autobiography of the same name, "Bound for Glory" tells the story of legendary folk singer Woody Guthrie’s early years, before his rise to the top as a champion for the rights of migrant farm workers. Directed by Hal Ashby and starring David Carradine, the 1976 film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Offered in complement to our special exhibition "agriCULTURE: Art Inspired by the Land."

Be the Difference: Partners Halloween Carnival

The "Be the Difference: Partners Halloween Carnival" invites adults to relive the joy of their childhood carnival experience, all while contributing to Partners' mission of empowering youth in Weld County. Ticket holders can expect: 

Unlimited Carnival Games: Rediscover the excitement of classic carnival games with unlimited plays. 

Delicious Drinks and Snacks: Savor a delightful selection of beverages and snacks throughout the evening. 

Costume Contest: Show off your creativity by participating in the individual or group costume contest, with a chance to win a $150 Visa Gift Prize. 

Food Truck: Enjoy carnival fare from a food truck parked right on site.

Friday Afternoon Concert Stephen Lancaster

Friday, Oct. 13, 2:30 pm; $12 general admission, $10 students/seniors,

The Museum welcomes baritone Stephen Lancaster for an all-Schubert program entitled “The Power of Little Things” featuring short piano pieces of varying moods, then moving directly into "Schwanengesang," the last 14 songs that Schubert wrote. These extraordinary pieces are rarely heard as a set, and cover an enormous range of emotions. Stephen will be accompanied by pianist Laure Colladant, considered one of the best fortepianists of her generation.

Posada Printmaking: The Art of Protest Workshop for Adults - REGISTER

Jose Guadalupe Posada, creator of the iconic Dia de los Muertos skeletons, was a shrewd social critic who used satirical imagery and humor to spark protest and social change.

Using printmaking techniques alongside a discussion about Posada’s use of art as a subtle tool of resistance, attendees will create their own protest print about a topic of their choice. They also learn how to write a satirical poem to accompany their print.

Temperatures are climbing in Colorado and across the world. That’s just one of many ways in which human-produced climate change is touching our lives. But disasters like wildfires and floods — two of the biggest threats in Colorado – are also affected by our built environment and where and how we live.

Join Boulder-based meteorologist and journalist Bob Henson as he sorts through our warming world and look at some ways we can reduce the risks posed by weather and climate extremes, both globally and locally.
