Longmont Facilities to Add Processing Fees Starting Tuesday

business-district-longmont-co-11

Starting December 17, Longmont public facilities will implement processing fees for non-cash payments.

This new policy applies to debit/credit card transactions and online payments.

City officials aim to cover transaction costs while keeping cash and in-person check payments free of fees.

New Fees for Non-Cash Payments

Visitors using debit or credit cards to pay for services will now face a 3% processing fee.

For those paying online through E-checks, a $1 fee will be charged per transaction.

However, there’s good news for people who prefer traditional methods—cash and in-person check payments remain fee-free.

These fees are being introduced to help offset the administrative costs associated with digital transactions.

Longmont officials encourage residents to use payment methods that work best for them, keeping potential extra charges in mind.

Facilities Impacted by Fees

The processing fees will affect payments at various locations, including the Longmont Recreation Center, Centennial Pool, and the Senior Center.

Visitors to seasonal spots like Union Reservoir and Sunset Pool will also be subject to these fees.

The changes are designed to ensure consistent policies across Longmont facilities.

Online payments through the city’s recreation website will also see these fees starting December 18.

Residents paying for activities or memberships online are advised to factor in the additional costs when planning their budgets.

Information for Residents

To help answer questions about the new policy, the city has provided resources for residents.

People can email [email protected] or call 303-774-4827 for further information.

These channels are available for anyone needing clarification on how the fees work or where they apply.

The processing fees officially start on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Longmont officials hope the advance notice will give residents time to adapt to the changes and explore payment methods that best suit their needs.
