LONGMONT - Longmont’s annual WinterFest and the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA)’s Ice Climbing World Cup will be held simultaneously on February 22 and 23 outside the Longmont Climbing Collective rock climbing gym. General admission tickets to the events are free and VIP tickets (which include heated tents, front-row seating, and beverages/snacks) cost between $82 and $125.

WinterFest, a yearly winter festival that takes place in Longmont, consists of local food trucks, locally brewed beer, and local vendors that convene in an outdoor setting. The festival will take place surrounding a competition area and ice wall where ice-climbing athletes will warm up and compete from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (or later) on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or later) on Sunday.

The UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup is an annual competition that takes place around the world. The world cup competition consists of lead and speed ice climbing. Athletes compete in rounds and are judged on height and time spent on each climb. The winner of each men’s and women’s category will receive a trophy.

This is the first time since 2019 that the UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup will be held in the U.S., according to Aaron Tellier, the chief marketing officer for the Longmont Climbing Collective. Tellier said that more than 80 athletes from 15 countries will be competing. This is the fifth stop on the 2025 UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup tour.

More than 2,000 tickets had been issued for the event as of February 17, according to Tellier.
