Summer Concert Series

Summer concerts are back on Thursday nights at the Longmont Museum — and this time you can join in-person! Stretch out and enjoy some tunes for free, from up-and-coming local bands to established regional and national musicians in the Museum’s courtyard. There is limited seating and reservations are recommended. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Alcohol and concessions available for sale (only alcohol purchased on-site is allowed). If you can’t join in-person, you can tune in live via the website, Facebook LIVE, or local Comcast Cable Channel 8/880. Thanks to our presenting sponsor, the Longmont Cultural Events Fund (part of the Longmont Community Foundation), for making the Summer Concert Series possible. 

On Thursday, June 17, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.,Tierro Band with Bridget Law will play at the Longmont Museum at 400 Quail Road from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. This World Jam collaboration is a 7-piece live band with hints of electronica. The ethnic flavors of table and sitar spice up the danceable backbeat as guitars and violins intertwine layers of alluring melodies from distant lands. 

June 18 

Crochet 101 - Learn to Crochet! | Downtown Longmont, CO

On Friday, June 18, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Longmont Yarn Shoppe at 454 Main Street, there will be a beginner’s crocheting class. Learn to make a chain, single crochet, double crochet and half double crochet in this beginner's class. You can choose to make a pair of fingerless mitts or a scarf. Your class fee includes a complementary LYS Manifesto bag to carry your pattern and projects in! 

Writer's Workshop at the Firehouse Art Center | Downtown Longmont, CO

Every Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Firehouse Art Center at 667 4th Avenue in Longmont, there will be a writer’s workshop in person. Please wear a mask and meet at the Firehouse. Join the Firehouse Art Center Writers for a helpful, all levels, writers workshop. The event may include read throughs, prompts, sharing and more. There will be a facilitator. This event is free but the Firehouse Art Center, as a 501c3 non-profit organization, always appreciates donations.

June 19 

Bootstrap Brewing's 9th Anniversary Bash! | Downtown Longmont, CO

June 19th marks 9 years of Rockin’ the ’Strap & we’re throwing one helluva raging party so bring your dancing shoes! The event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bootstrap Brewing at 142 Pratt Street. Live music by Denny, Rick & Tony, Shadowside & Van Crue’Len

Midsummer Maker's Market | Downtown Longmont, CO

On Saturday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cactus Coven at 439 Main Street, there will be the annual Midsummer Maker’s Market, identifying local vendors & makers, as well as some workshops and demonstrations. 

June 20 

Oliver! at Jesters Dinner Theatre

On Sunday, June 20, at Jesters Dinner Theatre, 224 Main Street in Longmont, the show Oliver! Will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets range between $22 to $40. 

Synopsis: The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family.

On Sunday, June 20, there will be a Ukulele Jam with Brian Rezac at Bootstrap Brewing in Longmont. Whether you want to learn how to play the Ukulele or already do and want to join the fun, wipe off your uke and join in- it's blast! Host Brian Rezac has extras you can borrow. Or, just come enjoy a beer and watch. All ages and levels welcome.

Summer Camp: Charge it Up! Mini Science Stars | Downtown Longmont, CO 

From Monday, June 21 to Friday, June 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., children ages 6 to 8 can participate in Charge it Up! Mini Science Stars Camp at the Longmont Museum. Are you curious about magnets, light, and electricity? Let's explore all these things together and make light sabers, simple and parallel circuits, compasses and more! This camp is held online. Supply kits to use and keep will be available at the Museum for curbside pick-up. Multimedia waiver must be signed to participate.

Summer Camp: La Granja Increible: The Incredible Farm | Downtown Longmont, CO

From Monday, June 21 to Friday, June 25, from 1 to 4 p.m., children ages 3 to 6 can participate in La Granja Increible: The Incredible Farm Camp at the Longmont Museum. In this camp, campers will learn about the farm and all the animals that you can find while immersing themselves in Spanish language and culture. This is a hands-on arts and crafts Spanish class; kids will have fun through music, storytelling, and movement. All campers must be potty-trained to attend this camp.

Summer Camp: Raiders of the Lost Artifact | Downtown Longmont, CO

From Monday, June 21 to Friday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., children ages 8 to 12 can participate in Raiders of the Lost Artifact Camp at the Longmont Museum. Calling all archaeologists, explorers, and adventure-seekers: Indiana Jones needs your help! Decipher ancient texts, follow treasure maps, avoid booby traps, and unravel the mystery of the Lost Artifact.

Summer Camp: Sirenas y Piratas: Mermaids & Pirates | Downtown Longmont, CO

From Monday, June 21 to Friday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., children ages 3 to 6 can participate in Sirenas y Piratas: Mermaids & Pirates Camp at the Longmont Museum. Become immersed in the Spanish language and culture as we have fun with mermaids and pirates! This is a hands-on arts and crafts Spanish class; kids will have fun through music, art, storytelling, and movement. All campers must be potty-trained to attend this camp.

Summer Camp: Wild West Adventure | Downtown Longmont, CO

From Monday, June 21 to Friday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., children ages 7 to 10 can participate in Wild West Adventure Camp at the Longmont Museum. Embark on our classic Wild West Longmont adventure! Learn about Longmont’s past while panning for gold, playing pioneer games, dressing up in wild west clothes, running a general store, making your own butter and ice cream, and even meeting a mountain man. Bring your rainboots and be prepared to get messy!

Sunset Eco-Tour - Union Tickets, Tue, Jun 22, 2021 at 5:30 PM

On Tuesday, June 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Paddleboard, 461 County Road 26 in Longmont, explore the lake with us on our Sunset Eco-Tour. This easy moving paddle will give you the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, including pelicans, bald eagles, and osprey. Our ACA certified guides will take the time to discuss the tributaries, history and ecological makeup of the lake as the sunsets behind the awe-inspiring Rocky Mountains.

This will be an intimate evening of storytelling and song, against the beautiful backdrop of this special Longmont Farm. Moonstruck Melodies is a husband and wife duo offering original campfire music from and for the soul. Bike "Wherever" Day | Downtown Longmont, CO

In the absence of a formal Bike to Work Day celebration, the City would like to celebrate individuals that ride to “wherever” on Wednesday June 23rd. The City will be giving out breakfast burritos and swag including lights and bells to the first 50 riders that visit the Development Services Center at 4th Avenue and Kimbark Street between 7:30 am and 9:00 am. Look for City staff at the 4th Avenue entrance. Family Golf Outing at Fox Hill Club to benefit the Longmont United Hospital Foundation!

On Sunday, August 22, 2021, the Fox Hill Club will host the 1st Annual Family Golf & Adventure outing! There will be nine holes of golf, 27 teams of two, alternating shots between child and adult. We anticipate three flights, 6 and under, 7-12, 13-15, ultimately determined by number of participants. In addition to golfing, the team package also includes up to four more people (6 per team package) for swimming, backyard grille banquet at 6 p.m., games, drawings, and fun. 

The cost is $250 per Family Package only one golf team per package and benefits the Longmont United Hospital Foundation, specifically for upgrading the Emergency Room with Family Friendly rooms at Longmont United Hospital.
