Egg My Yard - Longmont High School Cheer fundraiser

Longmont High School Cheer presents their latest fundraiser, Egg My Yard. People in Longmont can sign up here, purchase the number of eggs they want to be hidden in their front yard and Longmont High School Cheer will hide the eggs on April 16th. To have them hide 20 eggs costs $20, 50 eggs for $40 and 100 eggs for $75. All candy inside the eggs will be in its original packaging. By participating in this fundraiser, the community is helping fund Longmont High School Cheer events. 

Deliveries will only be made to people within the Longmont area and all orders must be received by Longmont High School Cheer by Saturday, April 13. Click here to sign up.

​​CU's Playback Theatre Ensemble: Don't Boulder My Longmont! (Or Please Boulder My Longmont!) | Thursday Nights @ the Museum | City of Longmont, Colorado

Wherever you stand on how Longmont’s changing, you probably have stories to tell. Bring us your stories (or just come to watch!) and witness them turned into art. CU’s Playback Theatre Ensemble uses improvised forms of theatre, movement,and music to transform your stories into an evening of theatre and community. This event will take place starting at 7 p.m. in the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium on March 31. Tickets are $18 for general admission, $15 for students and seniors and $12 for museum members.

Art & Sip: Watercolor Koi Fish

In Japan, koi fish are symbols of love and friendship. Teaching Artist Leigh Putman will guide you through using watercolor paint to make a splashy and relaxed painting of koi fish in an Art & Sip class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Longmont Museum on Thursday, March 31. This class is part of our Art & Sip series. Grab a drink and get creative with these classes for adults. Beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks will be available for purchase in the Atrium Bar. This season you’ll see a special focus on art projects inspired by our current exhibit Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper. Lithography demo with Greg Santos at the Firehouse Art Center

Gregory Santos discusses and demonstrates traditional lithography printmaking in a class at the Firehouse Art Center from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 31. Join us to learn about this historical printmaking process and hear how artists are using stone lithography today. Gregory Santos will demonstrate, using a one-of-a-kind traveling press. Originally from New York, Gregory Santos is the printmaking director at Art Gym Denver, and has been involved with Month of Printmaking since 2016 as a volunteer and chair - coordinating events, securing sponsorship, and supporting printmakers from around the Front Range. This demonstration accompanies our exhibit featuring all 24 prints from his national exchange project, Mixed Grit. Longmont Museum Presents: Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra

Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra returns to Stewart Auditorium for two back-to-back evenings dedicated to one of Hollywood’s most hallowed fools, Buster Keaton. The Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra is a five-piece chamber ensemble that revives the repertoire of silent film orchestras. Using historic libraries of music, and selecting and fitting a piece of music for each scene in the film, Mont Alto compiles vibrant and emotional scores using the original techniques of silent film orchestras. This event will take place starting at 7 p.m. on April 1st and 2nd. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $18 for students and seniors and $15 for museum members.  

Absurd April Fools Parade

Dress up in your most absurd costume and join us at Roosevelt Park as we shamelessly parade down the streets of downtown Longmont. Meet at the Senior Center in Roosevelt Park at 5:47 p.m. on Friday, April 1. The parade begins at 6 p.m. We will go south on Pratt Street, turn east on 6th Ave, march up Main Street to Longs Peak Ave. and head west back to the park. Pets, kids and noise makers are encouraged! 

Dee-o-Gee Grand Opening

Come celebrate the newly opened Dee-O-Gee located at 110 Emery Street in Longmont from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 1st and 2nd. We will have gift baskets full of pet supplies and a freezer for raw dog food to raffle off. We will also be serving food and refreshments from our local restaurants. Come join us for this two-day event and get to know your new locally owned business and the staff from Dee-O-Gee.

Outdoor Family Storytime | Downtown Longmont, CO

A 30-minute Friday fun storytime designed for children of all ages and their grown-ups occurs every Friday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the City of Longmont Public Library. This storytime will include longer picture books, so expect a little more sitting and listening. Silly singing and movement will also be included. Registration is required each week. Registration for Outdoor Family Storytimes will open one week prior at 9 am. Storytimes are limited to 15 participants at this time, and there is no waitlist.

300 Moons: Late Night Comedy at 300 Suns Brewing

Comedy is back at 300 Suns Brewing! We're staying out past Longmont's bed time to showcase hilarious comedians. From 9 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, we have headliner Kate Strobel! Come out to see some stand up comedy with a few surprise characters along the way.

Ignition Dance Fitness - Zumba Class at the Elks Lodge

Join Liliana and Katie, licensed Zumba instructors, for a high energy dance fitness class in the Elks ballroom every Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. Livestream is also available. 

Outdoor Bilingual Storytime

Join us from the City of Longmont Public Library for stories and songs in Spanish and English for children of all ages with Librarian Valerie every Monday from 10-10:30 a.m.! All aged children with a grown-up are welcome, but this storytime is best for 3 years and older. Registration is required each week. Registration for Outdoor Bilingual Storytime will open one week before at 9 a.m. Storytimes are limited to 15 participants at this time, and there is no waitlist.

April 5 

Speakeasy Open Mic | Downtown Longmont, CO

The Speakeasy Open Mic Night in Longmont is *the* place to take the stage in Longmont. Every Tuesday night, sign-up starts at 7 p.m. and the first performer starts at 8 p.m. Singers, instrumentalists, comedians, poets, hip-hop, and more... all are welcome! Come see the premiere acts in the area, from brand new artists to seasoned performers. 

Open Chess Night

Every Tuesday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. is Open Chess Night at the Longmont Public Library! We will have some tables set aside on the 2nd floor for playing with chess sets available. However, you may bring your own set. This event is open to all ages, but those 16 and younger must have an adult with them at all times. Evenings will be informal and there will be no instruction on how to play (we do have books on the subject)!

April 7

Learn to Crochet!

Ready to get in on the hottest thing in fiber arts? Learn to crochet! At this three session class at Longmont Yarn Shop, you will learn to make a chain, single crochet, double crochet and half double crochet. You can choose to make a pair of fingerless mitts or a scarf. Your class fee includes a complementary LYS Manifesto bag to carry your pattern and projects in! For in person classes, all participants must provide proof of being fully vaccinated and boosted. Students save 10% on class supplies. Book your seat online or in store prior to class to secure your seat.
