Longmont Humane Society announced on February 26 that registration is now open for the organization’s Kids and Critters summer camp, which is open for children ages seven to 12. The week-long camp takes place at the humane society every week in June and July, with options for half or full days. Campers can attend for three or five days during the week-long camp.
At camp, children will engage in interactive animal-themed games and activities and watch guest presentations. The camp aims to expand kids’ knowledge of animal care, animal welfare, and animal safety in a fun and interactive environment. According to Longmont Humane Society’s website, campers will also get to have hands-on interactions with shelter animals, including ambassador guinea pigs.
Registration for camp costs between $200 and $400. Registration can be completed online. A limited number of scholarships are available for those who qualify.
