The Longmont Chamber of Commerce celebrates businesses and nonprofits at annual Jubilee

Each year the Longmont Chamber of Commerce highlights the accomplishments of local businesses and nonprofit organizations through its Longmont Best of Business Awards ceremony. This year’s and previous year’s winners were recognized Wednesday night.

Business awards are handed out at the Chamber’s Jubilee celebration. For the past two years, the celebration has been hosted virtually. This year marked its long-awaited return to an in-person gathering.

The Longmont Chamber hosted its 2023 Jubilee event at the Longmont Museum on Wednesday where it announced the winners of eight categories including Business of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, Emerging Business of the Year, Longmont Chamber Legacy Award, People’s Choice Award, Building Bridges Award, Ambassador of the Year and Making a Difference Award.

For organizations like PEARL, the award brings hope for continued success, according to PEARL Executive Director Lynsey Georgen.

“PEARL has been in a year of transition, and we looked to our clients for lessons in perseverance and devotion to get through it and come so far,” Georgen said. “We are committed to our cause of assisting the vulnerable demographic of single parent families, knowing that children raised by a single parents are more likely to be addicted to drugs, less likely to go to college, and more likely to live a life of poverty. We want to break the generational cycle and our goals to do this are through our four programs.”

PEARL, a faith-based organization that provides single parent families assistance, received the nonprofit of the year award.

“This means so much to us to be recognized in our community, especially among such incredible other mission-driven nonprofits. PEARL has been in a year of transition, and we looked to our clients for lessons in perseverance and devotion to get through it and come so far,” Georgen said. “We are thrilled to know that our community believes in our work! Thank you, Longmont!”

Front Range Community College received the Legacy Award, which is awarded to businesses or nonprofits that have been members of the Longmont Chamber of Commerce for 10 or more years. It is not the first time the community college has received the award.

“The Longmont Chamber Legacy Award means a great deal to FRCC because it honors the strong commitment we have to the Longmont community. Our mission is not only to serve our students, it is also to be part of the fabric of the communities that we serve, helping the people, businesses, and organizations in the area thrive. We are so proud to be recognized for the contributions that we have made and look forward to making even more in the future," said Dr. Aparna Palmer, vice president of the Boulder County Campus.
