The Longmont Library is thrilled to announce its upcoming Wintertime BINGO reading challenge, inviting readers of all ages to embark on an exciting literary journey throughout the winter months. This engaging challenge encourages participants to embrace the season's chill by curling up with a good book and the chance to win prizes!
Starting on Saturday, Dec. 23, the Wintertime BINGO reading challenge is a community-wide initiative designed to promote a love for reading and learning, while also fostering a sense of togetherness during the winter season.
During the timeframe (Dec. 23 – Jan. 7 for kids and teens; Dec. 23 – Jan. 31 for adults), read books, watch movies, listen to audiobooks, check out Experience/Destination bags, or a combination of everything, and when you have a BINGO, turn in your card to the appropriate desk within the Library! Young Library lovers who cannot read themselves can have parents and caregivers read to them to complete their BINGO cards.
"Reading is the perfect way to stay warm and engaged during the winter," said Claire Studholme, the Children and Teen Services Librarian and Manager. "Our Wintertime BINGO program is a fantastic opportunity for families and individuals to discover new books, explore different genres, and have some fun along the way. Plus, there are exciting prizes to be won!"
The BINGO cards, tailored to different age groups, will be available at the Longmont Library and online. Participants can fill out their BINGO cards by reading books that match the designated criteria. Once a BINGO is achieved, participants can submit their completed cards for a chance to win a variety of prizes! Kids and teens who complete a BINGO will automatically receive a prize from the Children and Teen Services desk when they turn in their card, while supplies last.
Wintertime BINGO is open to everyone in the community, from young readers to adults, and it's a perfect way to encourage the joy of reading and lifelong learning.
To participate, interested individuals can pick up their BINGO cards at the Longmont Library starting on Saturday, Dec. 23. For more information about the program and how to get involved, please visit here or ask a Library staff member the next time you are at the Library!
