The City of Longmont will be flushing water lines throughout the city between Monday April 28 to Friday May 30, but the dates are subject to change. The flushing program will begin in northern Longmont and move to the south, followed by western Longmont and finishing in the eastern region of the city.
The city flushes the water lines every spring to maintain high water quality and to make sure all fire hydrants are working properly. Residents can expect to see lower water pressure when the flushing is taking place and there may be discolored water for a short period of time. The city encourages residents to limit water use and refrain from using hot water when the flushing is happening in the immediate area. The water is still considered safe to drink and use.
A PDF map is available on the website so residents can see when the flushing is expected to take place in a particular neighborhood. An interactive map will be updated as the city completes the process to show areas that have been flushed and time estimates will be updated accordingly.
