The Boulder County Fairgrounds at 9595 Nelson Road in Longmont will once again host a free COVID testing center.

As COVID tests became readily available midway through 2020, the fairgrounds became a home for free COVID-19 testing. As cases of the Delta variant increase, Boulder County Public Health has received an increase in requests to reopen the facility.

“Even with the numbers of fully vaccinated people increasing and the requirement to wearing masks indoors, we must continue to employ multiple, layered strategies to overcome this pandemic,” said Chris Campbell, Boulder County Public Health Emergency Manager. “Timely testing is essential for keeping our friends, families, colleagues and communities safe, healthy and thriving.”

BCPH encourages anyone experiencing COVID symptoms to get tested even if vaccinated.

“Although you may not have any symptoms, you can still spread COVID-19. If you think there is even a chance you have been exposed, go and get tested. Tests are easy to access, available to everyone for free, and results are returned quickly,” Campbell said.

Boulder County has several testing providers throughout the county including a site at Stazio Ball Fields. This site was set to close at the end of the week, however, due to an increase of request the county decided to keep it open indefinitely, according to a news release from Boulder County.
