Small Fire Displaces Boulder Condo Residents, Cause Under Investigation

A small attic fire at Arborwood Condominiums in Boulder displaced residents of four units due to water damage. Boulder Fire-Rescue contained the fire within an hour; the cause remains under investigation.

Boulder Fire-Rescue responded to a call reporting a structure fire around 7:42 a.m. this morning in the Arborwood Condominiums complex on O'Neal Circle in Boulder. The fire was small and located in the attic of one of the condominiums, according to Jamie Barker, Boulder Fire-Rescue’s media contact.

Engines 143, 145, and Tower 141 were initially dispatched, but by 8:22 a.m., the call was upgraded to a “Fill the Box,” signaling the need for additional resources to fully extinguish the fire, ensure safety, and investigate its cause. Engine 141 and Trucks 146 and 147 were then dispatched to the scene.

Within one hour, the fire had been put out, the building was cleared, and crews were taken off scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Four units were affected, primarily due to water damage. Boulder Fire-Rescue has handed the building back to the property owner and manager, who will oversee repairs.
