The public is invited to the second virtual public meeting of the Boulder County Colo. 287 Bus Rapid Transit Feasibility study project, scheduled for Wednesday, April 14 at 6 p.m.
Register for the virtual meeting at boco.org/US287-April 14.
Boulder County is proposing adding Bus Rapid Transit, or BRT, along the stretch of Colo. 287 from Broomfield to Colo. 66 north of Longmont, Jeff Butts, the county’s multimodal transportation planner told The Leader in November.
Longmont is a key component of Colo. 287 since the highway attracts as many as 27,600 vehicles a day during peak hours, Butts said. The highway cuts through downtown Longmont and is important to the city’s commercial development, he said.
The current phase of the study focuses on BRT routing, stations, and multi-modal alternatives. The meeting will include visuals of potential BRT guideway and opportunities for members of the public to ask questions and share their opinion, according to a Boulder County news release.
Spanish language interpretation services will be provided. La interpretación en español estará disponible.
The meeting will be recorded for later viewing for those unable to attend. For more information on the meeting, contact Butts, Multimodal Planner II, at 720-564-2754 or [email protected].
