Climber Dies After 20-Foot Fall in Boulder Canyon, Officials Say

A 41-year-old climber from Golden died Sunday after falling 20 feet in Boulder Canyon; emergency responders arrived to find him unresponsive.

A climber died on Sunday afternoon after falling 20 feet in Boulder Canyon. The man was 41 years old.

 

The climber, who lived in Golden, was climbing in the Rivera climbing area of Boulder Canyon with family and friends when he fell, according to 9News. Emergency responders arrived on the scene around 3:15 p.m. after receiving a 911 text reporting the incident. The texts said that the man was receiving CPR but was unresponsive. 

 

The man was pronounced dead and is in the hands of the Boulder County Coroner’s Office. The office will announce the identity of the man after they have notified next of kin.
