A proposed 25 apartment complex in north Longmont may soon be part of the city’s affordable housing portfolio.

The city council last week approved an agreement that says the Cinnamon Park Apartments meets Longmont’s Inclusionary Housing requirements.

All of the development’s 25 units will be provided on-site with income limits set at or below 60% AMI or the Area Median Income. Eleven units will be affordable rentals, at or below 50% AMI, which are in accordance with the inclusionary housing ordinance, a city staff report states.

Developers of Cinnamon Park, located at 1333 Cinnamon Street, entered the city’s development review process in March 2020, the city staff report states. After the council’s approval last week, an affordable housing agreement and rental housing covenant will be drawn up.

Both documents outline the specifics about the development and how it will meet the affordable housing requirements, the staff report states.

There is no date set yet for construction.
