Longmont, CO – The Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce has hired Ms. Leah Winkler of Longmont as the Chamber’s new Event & Program Director. The position was recently vacated by Scott Cook who assumed his new role as CEO of the organization.
Ms. Winkler was most recently with Boomtown Accelerator in Boulder, Colorado serving as their Program Manager. Leah assisted in the development of the accelerator curriculum and the successful expansion of their programs and events. Ms. Winkler is also known in the community as a volunteer at Tinkermill, a local makerspace and as a 2017 graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership Longmont program.
Winkler said “Supporting startups and established businesses is a passion of mine, and I am really excited to bring that passion to my hometown. I look forward to joining the amazing team at the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, working with local businesses, and helping entrepreneurs start up new ones." Ms. Winkler begins her duties as Event & Program Director on Wednesday, December 6.
The Longmont Chamber hosts a full and varied calendar of business events for businesses in all industry sectors and sizes in the Longmont area. Ms. Winkler will manage the majority of Longmont Chamber events including well known premier events such as Unity in the Community, PEAK, Commerce Cup Open Golf Tournament and the Membership Celebration.
