As part of the Longmont Museum’s Friday Afternoon Concert Series and in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, the Beth Gadbaw Celtic Trio will perform on March 14 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Stewart Auditorium. Gadbaw will be joined by Sandra Wong and Steve Mullins in the Celtic music performance.
Gadbaw lives in Lyons and is a Fulbright-award winning singer, teacher, and composer. She sings and plays the Irish bodhran drum. She specializes in performing folk music rooted in the Celtic tradition, having originally been inspired by Irish music at the age of seven because of her Irish heritage.
Throughout her career, Gadbaw has been commissioned to set the words of the Welsh poet laureate to music, has been named a pioneer of folk song teaching, and has performed in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and England. She also spent time studying Irish Gaelic in Galway, Ireland after graduating from the University of Colorado.
The Longmont Museum’s Friday Afternoon Concert series happens monthly from February to April and September to December. The concerts feature “an eclectic array” of musical acts from the Front Range.
General admission tickets to the show are available online for $12, or for $8 for members of the museum.
