Arc Thrift Stores is recognizing Safeway for its long-term advocacy and support of people in Colorado with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Safeway will receive the Distinguished Leadership Award by Arc Thrift Stores during its annual gala fundraising event on Sept. 1 at Denver Botanic Gardens. The event raises money for Arc, one of Colorado’s largest employers of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, during a celebration of community, inclusivity and diversity.
Lloyd Lewis, Arc’s president and CEO, will present the award to Safeway during the ceremony, as well as honor the Arc Ambassadors as Heroes of the Year. There will also be a fashion show emceed by Denver7’s morning anchor, Nicole Brady.
On Tuesday, Arc’s virtual silent auction began as well, including a football signed by Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and a 2022 Stanley Cup Championship pennant signed by the entire Avalanche hockey team. To bid online visit e.givesmart.com/events/iaG/i/.
