Man arrested after setting fire to his house

A man is charged with arson and disorderly conduct after causing a structure fire to a house at 11th Ave. and Gay St. on May 18.


On Tuesday, a Longmont home was engulfed in flames in the 1,000 block of Gay Street. The Longmont Fire Department responded to and extinguished the structure fire.

The initial investigation indicated the fire could be the result of arson, which was later verified upon further investigation. 

On Thursday, Sgt. Matt Cage of the Longmont Police Department reported a suspect, a 36-year-old man, has been charged and arrested for arson and disorderly conduct. 

The home was the residence of the man in question.
