To Whom It May Concern:
The purpose of this communication is to support the candidacy of Ron Gallegos for an at-large seat on the Longmont City Council for the 2017 municipal election. To begin, I have had the pleasure to speak with Mr. Gallegos (Ron) at a number of community events. During these impromptu dialogues, I have found Ron to be a strong visionary. He is very knowledgeable of the city and has dreams for the city with the determination to make these dreams come true. He speaks of the need for jobs, housing, downtown development, and the need for more parks, a downtown garage, and an opportunity to draw tourists into the city as they travel to the beautiful Rocky Mountains. He continues to discuss the needed changes for the Twin Peaks Mall which he has worked on for many, many years. I am impressed by Ron’s understanding that the Future waits for no one, and that City Leaders need to lead the Journey into tomorrow.
Ron’s concerns seem to particularly be two-fold. He speaks about the need for the community to be highly involved with the environment and predominantly with the St. Vrain River Corridor. As he speaks, one feels not only his strengths in social responsibility, but also his passion for social responsibility for the community.
Ron’s background not only with his having previously served on Longmont’s City Council, but being a financial consultant and business owner in the community are a plus. Again, let me mention the Twin Peaks Mall which several years ago, Ron proposed condemning with the city rebuilding for future needs. Some of this dream is coming true now. But, I ask, “What took so long?” and “Why?” I will also speak to his abilities as a financial consultant. These knowledges will take the city a long way in responsible fiscal planning for the future. Finally, having been a resident and business owner in the community will be a plus for all citizens of the city. He has the skills, knowledge, commitment and passion to serve the community well. Remember Ron at the ballot box.
