A man reported missing from a Denver nursing home was found dead at the Sheridan Public Works Facility after two days.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, though foul play is not suspected.
Missing from Denver Nursing Home
The man, reported missing on Nov. 30, was a resident at a Denver nursing home that provides care for individuals with cognitive and mental health issues.
He was last seen leaving the facility around 1:10 p.m., walking away from the building.
Staff and residents at the home were concerned, and the nursing home quickly alerted local authorities.
After the report was filed, police began searching the surrounding area, including local schools, bus stops, and parks, but could not find him.
Despite their efforts, the man remained missing for about two days before he was located in Sheridan.
Found at Sheridan Facility
On Monday morning, a public works employee at the Sheridan Public Works Facility discovered the man in a restricted, gated area.
The man was found in medical distress, and the employee immediately alerted a supervisor, who called 911 for help.
Emergency responders quickly arrived and transported the man to Swedish Hospital by ambulance.
Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after arriving.
While authorities are still investigating the cause of death, the circumstances surrounding the discovery are concerning, as the facility is located several miles from where he was last seen.
Investigation Underway, No Foul Play
Sheridan Police, along with the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office, are conducting an investigation into the man's death.
At this time, there is no evidence suggesting foul play, though the exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
Law enforcement officials from both Denver and Sheridan are involved in the case, ensuring a thorough investigation.
The man's identity has not been publicly released, as both law enforcement agencies continue to gather information.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence to piece together what happened during the two days he was missing.
