DENVER - The 50501 Movement, an organization that rejects Project 2025 and is anti-President Donald Trump, is calling for peaceful protests in all 50 states on February 5. The protests will allegedly take place at each state’s State Capitol Building.
A protest organized in conjunction with the movement will allegedly occur from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the State Capitol West Steps, in Denver. The protest was organized via social media. A permit was secured by protest organizer and Denver resident Jeffrey Sowell, according to Westword. The permit will allow for up to 1,000 people to protest on the Capitol’s steps.
Sowell told Westword that a few local groups plan to take part in the protest, including The Resistance 5280, which is an organization focused on resistance to any corrupt business or government system.
The protest is not expected to include a march and will allegedly stay on the steps of the Capitol building.
Westword reported that Sowell says the protest is for people who “want their voices heard” if they feel attacked by President Trump. “We’re standing for refugees and immigrant rights,” he told Westword. “We’re standing for women and women's reproductive rights. We're standing for education, and we're standing for the LGBTQ community."
