The Unity on Park, a newly converted affordable housing development, opens this week in Castle Rock.

Formerly a La Quinta hotel, it now offers 42 units tailored specifically for adults with disabilities.

This initiative is a collaboration between Douglas County and Wellspring Community, a nonprofit that supports disabled adults through day programs and work opportunities.

"The Unity on Park" in Castle Rock

The Unity on Park is a former hotel that has been transformed into affordable housing for adults with disabilities.

With 42 units available, 20 are dedicated to individuals who require special living arrangements.

The project is a joint effort between Douglas County and Wellspring Community, which offers essential support services including job training and recreational activities.

This development represents a groundbreaking step towards greater independence for adults with disabilities, providing them a place to call their own and build a life beyond traditional group living situations.

Living Independently at The Unity

Residents have moved out of their parents' homes for the first time to live at The Unity.

Wellspring staff are on-site to offer support, ensuring that residents receive the help they need with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry.

The Unity’s close proximity to downtown Castle Rock makes it easy for residents to access local amenities and participate in Wellspring’s day programs, fostering a sense of community and independence.

This new living arrangement is a life-changing opportunity for residents, offering them a chance to set their own schedules, make their own decisions, and build their own future.
