Suitable for all ages, this is the perfect opportunity for younger audience members to experience the magic of this timeless ballet as a shorter performance with narration! Centennial State Ballet will perform The Sleeping Beauty, a ballet in a prologue and three acts. The well-known fairy tale tells the story of a baby princess, condemned at her christening by an evil fairy to prick her finger and die on her 16th birthday . She is saved by the gift of the good Lilac Fairy, who declares the princess will only sleep until awakened by the kiss of a prince. The two main conflicting forces of good and evil serve as a theme throughout this fairy tale, replete with a king and queen, fairies both good and evil, a beautiful princess and dream prince and magical stage effects. Audiences of all ages will be entranced as the beloved story comes to life onstage through the artistry of the Centennial State Ballet performers.
