Get ready for this year's 'Merry & Bright' Longmont Lights Parade!

The beloved Longmont Lights Parade will return to Main Street on Dec. 11
Longmont Lights Parade

This year’s Longmont Lights Parade will kick off on Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. and features floats from local businesses, schools and organizations.

Parade organizers are excited to bring back this event after missing the 2020 parade. This year’s theme is “Merry & Bright”, and floats are able to compete for prizes, including gift cards and handmade wreaths for winners to display.

“I’m always so impressed with the quality of the floats in the parade,” event organizer Sam Calhoon said. “These folks really know how to light it up! Competition is always pretty close between prize winners.”

This year’s grand marshals are healthcare workers from around Longmont.

“Nobody has worked harder these last two years than healthcare workers, and we’re so proud they’re part of the Longmont Community,” Calhoon said.

Parade viewing is best on Main Street between 3rd Avenue and 8th Avenue, as well as on Coffman between Longs Peak Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

Floats will start at the intersection of Longs Peak Avenue and Coffman Street, proceeding south on Coffman to 3rd Avenue. From 3rd Avenue, floats will turn east to Main Street, then head north on Main Street to 8th Avenue. The parade will disperse on 8th Avenue north of Roosevelt Park.

The total duration of the parade is expected to be approximately 90 minutes.
