The suspect who is alleged to have gunned down 10 people in a Boulder King Soopers grocery store on Monday will have his first court hearing, in what will likely be a lengthy court process, on Thursday.
Ten people were killed, including a Boulder police officer, after the gunman dressed in tactical gear opened fire at the Boulder grocery store. The suspect, 21-year old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa of Arvada, is expected to be charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder.
The hearing will take place at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday and will be available remotely.

Judge Thomas Mulvahill, with the 20th Judicial District, will preside over the hearing. During the hearing, the judge will advise the suspect of his rights, announce when the next hearing will occur and whether the suspect will be able to be released on bail.
“This has been a painful year, and we sit here once again surrounded by seemingly incomprehensible loss,” Gov. Jared Polis said in a statement Tuesday. “We know there will be many hard days in the weeks and months ahead, but today let us remember the ten men and women who are no longer with us.”
