Ruth Jean Lawing passed away at her home on August 27, 2017. Ruth was born June 29, 1930 to Henry Minch Sr. and Anna Minch at their family farm in Mead, Colorado. She married Lloyd Lawing June 18, 1950. Together they were blessed with four children - Jerry, Judy, Mark and Marvin.
Ruth always loved to dance. In her younger years, she spent many hours creating beautiful crocheted doilies. She enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends. Ruth was devoted to caring for her son Mark until his passing at age 17. Ruth started cleaning for various individuals and businesses which continued until shortly before her passing. During her working years, because of her boundless energy, she earned the nickname "Dynamite". Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd, sons Mark and Marvin, brothers Chuck, Robert, Henry and Henry Wing.
Ruth is survived by son Jerry (Sheila) Lawing, daughter Judy (Don) Hegwood, grandchildren Stacy (Shane) Waggoner, Billy (Lisa) Hegwood, Nathan (Janel) Lawing, greatgrandchildren Jordan, Sierra, Cody, Shaina, Kyle and Wyatt, brothers Don Minch and Henry (Mary Lou) Minch Jr, sister Alice Lawing and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services is handling all arrangements.
The funeral will be held at Carroll-Lewellen Chapel Wednesday, September 6, 2017. The viewing begins at 9:30 a.m. and services at 10:00 a.m. Burial is to take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., staging area "A".
