Richard was born April 25, 1926 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Ernest Joseph and Myrtle May (Wheeler) Dupuis. Richard entered eternal rest on October 22, 2020, at the Life Care Center of Westminster, in Colorado.
Richard grew up in Argyle, Wisconsin near Madison and, as well, lived briefly in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Louisiana. He settled long-term in the Denver metro suburbs of Arvada and Broomfield, from 1958 – 2020. Richard was married to Helen Marie DiNapoli (passed October 1979) for nearly 30 years and from this marriage came 6 amazing children. He leaves behind his wife since 1981, Lois Ann Senz (Beck).
As an exemplary student, Richard played the trombone, football and basketball, when he attended high school in Sparta, Wisconsin. Richard completed his Bachelors of Science in Geological Engineering at the University of Wisconsin. He spent 30+ years working for the USGS (United States Geological Survey) in the field of cartography (map making).
Richard enlisted in the Marine Corps while still a senior in high school. World War II was raging in Europe and the Pacific and he was a patriotic young man who wanted to fight for his country. Though the fighting had ended just prior to his arrival in the pacific islands, he nonetheless served to help secure our troops and bring them home safely. He was a proud United States Marine.
A voracious reader, Richard enjoyed a wide range of genre’s and topics. He participated in many book reading clubs, including religious, great books, and meta-physical. Richard was active in his church for many years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Helen Marie DiNapoli. Surviving family members include: Lois Ann Senz, wife; Denis Dupuis, son; Joan Ford (Doug), daughter; David Dupuis, son; Chris Dupuis (Christine), son; Scott Dupuis, son; Tim Dupuis (Sheila), son; Carol Kallas (Gerry), sister; Jeanne Steele, sister; Tarrance Dupuis, grandson; Tasha Patterson (George), granddaughter; Nathan Ford, grandson; Jeremy Ford (Rebekah), Grandson; Jessica Todara (Tristen); granddaughter; Tim Ford (Elizabeth), grandson; Melissa Ford (Courtney Makinson), granddaughter; Dan Dupuis (Casey), grandson; Amber Dupuis, granddaughter; Tyler Dupuis, grandson; Natalie Novotny (Paul), granddaughter; Jill Dupuis, granddaughter
