Jack Whisman went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Longmont on January 29, 1935 to Lloyd Rex and Georgia Esther Whisman. He graduated from Longmont High School, class of 1952. He served in the Air Force June 1952 - 56, which included time served in Korea. When he returned home, he joined the Longmont Fire Department where he worked over 28 years. During his time in the fire department, he served as Captain, Training Officer, and Division Chief. He retired from the fire department in 1985.

He married Marie Whitmer on April 20, 1958. They were happily married for nearly 64 years. 

Jack loved his family which included Marie and their three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Janis Whisman, Mark and Emily Whisman, and Myron and Sandy Whisman.  He loved being grandfather to Hannah and Henry Whisman.  Jack enjoyed listening to music, working crossword puzzles, and traveling, but he mostly loved spending time with his family.  He was especially proud to attend many years of band concerts of his three sons and both grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jean Strand and Leota Koster, brother Richard Whisman, and half brother Herb Moore.  He is survived by his wife Marie, sons Mike (Janis), Mark (Emily), and Myron (Sandy), and grandchildren Hannah and Henry.  He is also survived by his sister Judy McCormick (Dale), sister-in-law Shirley Whisman, and many nieces and nephews.

Public visitation will be held at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel in Longmont, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 12 - 1 p.m.

The Memorial Service will be held at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 10 a.m. The family requests that everyone wear a mask to the service.
