Lucille Anna Kimm, 102, of Greeley, CO passed away after a long and happy life on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Loveland, CO. Born on April 7, 1919 in Naperville, IL during the Spanish Flu Pandemic, she was the daughter of the late John Michael and Mary Spinner Molitor. Surviving are her children, David (Susan) Sutherland of Loveland, CO and Gail (Richard) Francois of Greeley, CO; step daughter in law, Pam Burgeson of Geneva, IL; grandchildren, Shawn (Jessica) Sutherland of Loveland, CO, Richard (Jana) Raasch of Boynton Beach, FL, and Andrea Raasch of Hypoluxo, FL; step grandchild, Marnie (Brian) Kane of Elburn, IL; great-grandchildren, Kellen, Hadley and Maisy Sutherland of Loveland, CO; and step great- grandchildren, Mia, Declan and Zoe Kane of Elburn, IL; sister in law, Gloria Molitor of Geneva, IL;; niece, Lois Gondos, Elgin, IL; nephews, Ward Molitor and Lee (LeeAnn) Molitor of St. Charles, IL, John Schultz, Kirkland, WA; grandnieces, Nancy (Mark) Wiseman, Chicago, IL and Marsha (Tom) Kelly, Shell Knob, MO; cousin, Karen (Greg) Marrs of Ft. Lupton, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews, some of whom lived with her and Ray over the years.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sutherland; her infant son, Bruce Sutherland; second husband, Carl Kimm; her stepson, Dale Burgeson; stepdaughter, Trudy Kimm; her siblings, Mildred (Joseph) Savoy, Marion (Raymond) Wilkins, John M. (Agatha) Molitor Jr., Helen (Martin) McCormick, Edwin Molitor, and George Molitor; nephew, Jack Satterwaite; cousin, Avis (Robert) Munson.

Lucille was married to Raymond Sutherland in Carpentersville, IL on December 13, 1942 and following a brief honeymoon, Ray served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Lucille lived with family in Batavia, IL while he was gone. She sent Ray a telegram in 1944 that “ David has arrived home safely” to get around the war-time restrictions on “frivolous” birth telegrams. After the war, Bruce was born in 1946 and he passed away as a newborn of a heart condition. Gail followed on New Year’s Day 1948. Ray and Lucille operated their own electrical company in St. Charles, IL where their children were born and raised. They were members of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Following retirement, Ray and Lucille moved to Sebring, FL for many years where her yard was the envy of the neighborhood. She was an expert in crossword puzzles, playing bridge and cross stitch. Following Ray’s death in 1987, Lucille was remarried in 1989 to longtime family friend, Carl Kimm, who had lost his wife and moved to back to Geneva, IL. They moved to Boynton Beach, FL in 2006. She relocated to Greeley with Gail and Richard in 2018.

In later years, Lucille was legally blind from macular degeneration and was an avid listener of Talking Books and used Google to listen to her favorite music, especially the Statler Brothers. She was an active and vibrant senior until she had complications of a broken arm.
