February 28, 1963 ~ June 25, 2021 (age 58)

Laura Anne Gillett of Berthoud, Colorado died in her home on June 25, 2021, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Robert, their four children Benjamin, Kevin, Madeleine, and Margaret, as well as her brother Paul Furman of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Laura was born in 1963 in Michigan to Katheryn and Allan Furman. From a young age she pursued her love for music, especially choral music. In 1993 she moved to Colorado to study conducting. She met Robert while directing a choir in Boulder, and they married soon after. Laura homeschooled their four children from preschool through high school. She developed and taught a classical curriculum founded upon the Catholic faith, its history, and the saints.

Laura also contributed much of her time and musical talent to the Catholic Mass for many years. She directed music for the Sacred Liturgy at several parishes in northern Colorado, always motivated by the powerful way in which beautiful liturgy brings people to God. She held a deep love for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and always encouraged her family and friends to adore with her.

In early 2020 Laura was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She endured many months of chemotherapy, offering her suffering for the salvation of souls and an increase in devotion to the Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament.

Her family will remember her as an immensely loving wife and mother, tireless teacher, fabulous conductor, and an advocate of beauty for the greater glory of God.
