February 11, 1945 ~ January 8, 2022 (age 76)

Jimmy Martinez, 76 of Broomfield, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette.

He was born on February 11, 1945, in Greeley, CO to Manuel Martinez and Ruby (Moralez) Pargas.  Jimmy was married to Dorothy Torres on October 2, 1965, and later divorced. He then married Yolanda Dominguez on May 28, 1978 and was married until her death on November 6, 1997.

Jimmy attended Greeley schools and served in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged on October 24th, 1971. He worked for Monfort of Colorado, Town & Country Market, Steving Meat Processing, MCI, Thrifty Nickel, and head custodian at St Vrain School District.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Vickie Trujillo and granddaughters Megan Martinez and Christy Solis.

He is survived by son Andrew (Jeri) Martinez of LaSalle, Colo., and son James (Andria) Solis Sr. of Greeley, Colo. Grandchildren AJ (Desirea) Martinez, Ashlyn Martinez, Anthony (Erica) Solis, Jordan Limas, Elisiana Solis, ChristiAna Solis, James Solis Jr, Exzandra (Ness) Maldonado, and Victor (Vicky) Rael. Jimmy had 15 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by sisters; Jennie Martinez, Mary Pacheco, Dee (Mark) Johnson and brothers; Cruz Alarcon, Joe Pargas and Dave (Lisa) Pargas. He was also survived by his long-term caregiver Paula Gonzales and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Greeley followed by inurnment at Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor, CO.  A reception will follow at the LaSalle Community Center in LaSalle, CO.
