June 14, 1938 - June 15, 2023
Jim went to be with his Heavenly Father on the 15th of June, 2023.
He was born in Bowie, Texas in 1938 to Omer and Emma Hill. He grew up in Memphis, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
Jim went back to Memphis to farm and ranch. He met his future wife, Sandy, when she was working for her dad in his Veterinary Clinic in Clarendon, Texas. Sandy worked on Saturdays and Jim’s animals seemed to get “sick” only on Saturdays. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2023.
Jim was an entrepreneur his entire business career. In addition to farming and ranching, he was in real estate development and investments, manufacturing, and oil and gas royalties.
He was an avid fly fisherman for 65 years. He also hunted big game across the United States, Canada and Mexico, collecting the “Grand Slam” of North American Wild Sheep.
Jim’s passion was hunting upland game birds over his bird dogs. He loved helping his grandchildren develop a love of the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughters Stephanie Eiffert (Mike) and Vanessa Beymer (Bill); grandchildren Taylor Eiffert (Lauren), Kristin Eiffert Foster (Zach), Griffin Beymer, Weston Beymer and great granddaughter Eleanor Hill Foster.
Above all, Jim believed that God is in control and strong family values should be passed down through the generations.
A special thanks to all of the staff and caregivers at Seven Lakes Memory Care and Alliant Hospice.
