James Bayard Krall, rapscallion, trickster, saddle maker, stallion tamer, cowboy, contortionist, Donald Duck impressionist, poker enthusiast, gymnast, wheelie champion, motorcyclist, hide-and-seek master, baker, banjo player, trumpeter, fly fisherman, computer programmer and adventure-seeker, died at the age of 71 on August 25th, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.

“Jame” (the singular of James, since according to him, there was only one of him) was, in fact, one-of-a-kind. He approached every situation and new experience with open arms, curiosity and a unique sense of humor.

He was born in Fayetteville, New York in 1950 and graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in 1969. Seeking excitement, Jame traveled to the American west and learned how to make saddles, before returning to the northeast to work with Arabian stallions in Maryland. However, adventure called from Lander, Wyoming and he couldn’t resist the cowboy life of horses, saddle-making and surviving the wilderness. In 1980, he earned an associates degree in computer science as a promise to his late father, Jack Krall. Jame worked as a software engineer in Colorado, where he had 2 children. However, an incredible challenge arose when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), causing him to slowly and steadily lose the ability to use his adventure-seeking body.

Even MS couldn’t slow Jame to a halt. He continued to live life to the fullest, marrying Marie in 1995. Together, they tackled life, making it possible for Jame to continue seeking adventure. Despite the countless obstacles he encountered throughout his life, he enjoyed any situation in which he found himself.

Jame is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Ellen and sister Carolyn. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Marie, his brothers, Michael and David, his children, Katrina and Jacob, the mother of his children, C.J. and five grandchildren.

Heritage Funeral & Cremation Services of Lafayette is handling arrangements.
