July 12, 1948 - January 29, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George David Harman (1948 – 2024). Our dear husband, father, brother and uncle passed away at the age of 75 on January 29, 2024. He was the oldest child of George E Harman and Joyce Emery Harman. David was born July 12, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Specialist Four and was honorably discharged after being injured in battle. His military decorations for his heroism in battle include one Purple Heart, one Bronze Star Medal, and The Army Commendation.
He worked with his brother, Johnny as a stone mason for a few years and then went back to working for the Salt Lake City County who helped him get his CDL license and he started his lengthy career as a truck driver. At one point he purchased and drove his own truck until it was stolen and driven off a cliff, after that David decided it was better for someone else to own the truck. He was a truck driver for over 40 years. He was known as “Easy” and well loved by the Sundowners Motorcycle Club. He is remembered by his nieces and nephews as the great big motorcycle riding, truck driving uncle. David was larger than life with a booming voice and laughter that would make anyone stop and smile when hearing it. He and his dad and brothers could talk politics for hours and it was not unusual to come in the house and hear their big booming “Harman” voices arguing (discussing) a subject and then go on as if nothing had happened.
David is survived by his wife Laura Harman of 33 years, his daughter Brandy Harman and his stepson Cody Golden. As well as his sister and brothers - Valerie Harman, Rex (Sandy) Harman, Susan Harman, Robert (Terry) Harman, and his nieces and nephews - Bridget Booth, Jenny (Scot) McConnaughay, Stephanie Roberts, Jeremy (Christina) Harman, Shawn (Tiffany) Harman, Tiffany (Jeremy) Padilla and many, many great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Angela, his late wife Kathy, and two brothers John Harman and Joel Harman. David will be missed by all.
