Genevieve Virginia Adeline (Frigon) McIntosh died April 11, 2022 in her room at Northshore Health and Rehab Center, of Loveland, CO. Genevieve was born on June 15, 1926 to Joseph and Antoinette (Bombardier) Frigon in rural Clay County, KS. She was the fourth child of six: Armond, Bernard, Ernest, Joan, and Leo Roy.
For the majority of her life, she made her home in the Oak Hill community of Clay County with her husband, Leonard Wayne McIntosh, whom she married on June 25, 1945. Together they had four children, Patricia Joan McIntosh (Cappy) Ploegsma, (Colorado Springs, CO), Sherlyn Kaye McIntosh (Gary) Sampson, (Loveland, CO), David Wayne (Bonnie) McIntosh, (Colorado Springs, CO), and Daniel Len (Lana) McIntosh, (Oak Hill, KS). She lived out the last years of her life in Colorado.
Genevieve graduated from Clay Center Community High School in the class of 1944. She was extremely active in the Oak Hill community in the Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, a leader of the Sturdy Oak 4H club, a longstanding member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Oak Hill Home Demonstration Unit.
She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a church elder, 4H club leader, square dance instructor, farm wife, dairy maid, seamstress, fabric consultant, baker, and a farm product entrepreneur selling watermelons, sweet corn, chicken fryers, milk and cream, as well as a driver/deliverer for El Dorado Bus Corp of Minneapolis, KS.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard, 3 brothers and one sister, and her son, Daniel Len.
She is survived by her brother, Bernie, 3 children and their spouses,
8 grandchildren, and their spouses, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2022 at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Loveland, CO. Visitation at the church prior to the service.
Burial will be at Rose Meron Cemetery at Oak Hill, KS
