Donna Messenger, age 72, was born October 6th, 1948 in Longmont, CO.
Donna ascended this life to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on August 26, 2021 at Accel Care Center, Longmont, CO. Her parents were Harold and Ruth Oehler of Longmont CO. Donna was a graduate of Longmont High School, class of 1967. She met her future husband, Tommy Messenger of Leoti, KA in her home town of Longmont and later married on August 7 th 1970. Her honeymoon was spent traveling to Lake Taho NV, then settling in Longmont CO for the first 6 years of marriage prior to moving to Lake Station IN.
The fruit of their union resulted in 2 children, Sherrie Moraites (Messenger) of Morgantown WV; Jason Messenger of Spokane WA; 5 grandchildren Ryan Moraites, Rachel Moraites Tasha Moraites, Kayla Tornow (Salazar), Shaydon Messenger, and 3 great-grandchildren, Scarlett Tornow, Marissa Moraites, and Layla Moraites. Donna lived in Lake Station IN for 4 years. She returned to live in Longmont CO and surrounding area for the remainder of her life. Donna will be fondly remembered for her loving nature, innocent charm, and her commitment to caring for all of her loved ones to the absolute best of her ability. A loving mother, dedicated wife of 51 years, and faithful Christian, Donna enjoyed spending time with her family, she valued time spent to talk, listen, visit, and merely hold the company of those she loved.
Donna was preceded in death by her aforementioned parents, two brothers (Charles and Mark), and two sisters (Beverly and Rose). She leaves behind her husband Tommy Messenger of Longmont CO; Siblings Larry Oehler of Broomfield CO; Sharon Hazard of Tualatin OR; and her aforementioned children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
