David (Dave) Kersten of Loveland, Colorado passed away on September 16th in Loveland with his family by his side.  He was born in Chicago, to William R. and Mary Ellen Kersten.  The family moved to Denver, Colorado, where he attended Catholic school until graduating from Littleton High School in 1965.  After high school he enlisted in the Air Force and served as a jet and helicopter mechanic in Vietnam.  When he returned from Vietnam in 1969, he met and married his one true love, Judy.

The couple lived in Greeley where they raised their two daughters, Jennifer and Rebecca.  Dave worked at Eastman Kodak Company as an Engineering Technician for nearly 40 years.  He loved his work and could solve any problem at work or home.

Dave and Judy moved to Loveland to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren, Holden, Lorelei and Margaret (Maggie).  He was the best grandpa and spent countless hours playing anything his grandkids wanted to play.  He also loved going to the movies and listening to music.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents and brother George.  He is survived by his wife Judy, sister Ellen Lesley Thompson (Terry), daughters Jennifer (Chad Wierema) and Rebecca Schiel (Eric Houck Jr) and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Larimer County Food Bank.  A service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
