On Monday, August 9, 2021, David (Dave) Michael Pierce passed away at age 67 from natural causes at his home in Longmont, CO. Dave was born on January 24, 1954 in Framingham, MA, to John and Barbara Pierce (Dube). He moved to Colorado to attend National Camera Training in 1977 which he completed in 1978. He worked in the repair department at Mike's Camera in Boulder for many years, fixing cameras for store customers as well as numerous local photographers, and was known as one of the best in the industry. His talent for repair and understanding of how things work extended far beyond cameras, and he had a reputation among friends and acquaintances as being able to fix anything.
He fell in love with Colorado and never left, marrying Valerie Vivian Taylor in September of 1983 and raising two children, Andrea and Nicholas (Nic).
Dave had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh, and he loved to help people, whether he knew them or not.
He had a great appreciation for the Colorado outdoors, and some of his favorite activities were camping, boating at Carter Lake, and going for drives in the mountains. He had a passion for music which he shared with his family, amassing an impressive collection of vinyl and CDs over the years, and he enjoyed attending live music events. His two children were his pride and joy, and his commitment to his family never wavered. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother Barbara, his father John, and sister Nancy Martucci (Hitt). He is survived by his wife Valerie, children Andrea and Nic, brothers John Jr., Ken Hitt, Frank and Paul, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and a soon to be born granddaughter, Raleigh.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life on August 29th for close friends and family. They extend their gratitude for the support they have received during this difficult time.
