Daniel James Giles born September 25, 1947 in Birmingham, Michigan to Rita Jacquiline Giles passed into eternal life on August 31, 2021.
Married March 18, 1978 to the love of his life, Suzanne (McLean) Giles who preceded him in death in 2018. He is survived by two children: McLean Giles (husband to Ginger Giles) and Sarah Ridgway, and has five beautiful grandchildren: Noah, Grayson, Hunter, Lawson, and Sterling. He is also survived by a brother Robert Giles and cousins named Janice Hillyard, James Pardington, Suzanne Stroinski, Rosemary McWilliams, Thomas Pardington, Peter Roberts, Debra Roberts, Leslie Roberts, Mark Roberts, Margaret Ann Wills, Delaura Milne, and David Milne.
Dan graduated from Clawson High School in Clawson, MI in 1965, then joined the United States Navy as an Electrician Mate class “A”. After being honorably discharged, Dan went on to earn his Associates in Applied Sciences in Electronics in 1975 and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts from the University of Northern Colorado in 1978. Dan retired from Avago (formerly Hewlett Packard) as Equipment Maintenance Technician after working with the company for 34 years. Dan was active in the Catholic Church with Knights of Columbus, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
On Wednesday, September 15th, 2021 a rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1730 W 12th St, Loveland, CO, 80537. A private inurnment service will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Colorado Springs at a later date. Dan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
