Dana Curtis Clark, of Longmont, CO, passed away October 27, 2023. He was surrounded with love from his three children.

He was born in Belle Fourche, SD on January 4, 1955. He graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 1973. He joined the Navy after high school and honorably served for 5 years. Karla and Dana Clark were married in Sturgis, SD, on September 2, 1979.

Dana enjoyed supporting his children in sports, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He had a tremendous love for the outdoors; he was always out on opening day of deer hunting season, enjoyed drowning some worms at his favorite fishing hole, or was out in the mountains simply enjoying nature. When his children were younger Dana was heavily involved in the Sturgis Youth Wrestling and Baseball programs. He took pride in supporting his own children as well as providing opportunities for other children in the community to participate in youth athletics. It was a nearly year round job for him to spectate and support his children in sports, there are very few gyms that he hasn’t been in throughout the Midwest. In his precious downtime in the summer, he spent much of his time in his vegetable garden, creating rose gardens for his wife, and planning camping vacations.

Outside of supporting his children and retreating to the outdoors, Dana took full advantage of any free time he had. He was a big fan of J. R. R. Tolkien and loved having a Lord of the Rings movie marathon, “shh it’s his favorite part.” He was also a lifelong (sometimes long suffering) Denver Broncos fan. While these last seven years have been quite rough; he would still watch and cheer every weekend. His wardrobe was always chock full of orange and typically paired with a Broncos or Rockies hat. He has one tattoo, the Denver Broncos logo, which landed him in a tattoo magazine. He was also a fan of a good brewery, wineries in North Carolina, and live music. He most recently had a great time this past summer at his 50th class reunion and the Clark family reunion.

He is survived by his children, sons, Cody (Andrea) Clark, Broomfield, CO, Paul Clark, Spearfish, SD, daughter Ashley (Adam) Clark-Smith Loveland, CO, sisters, Lori (Neil) Engle, Spearfish, SD, Shari (Dave) Green, Lead, SD, and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, K
